Rochon was raised in her home in the Los Angeles suburb of Torrance and is the daughter of Zelma Nurse Practitioner, and Samuel Staples, a business director and graphic designer. Ullerup was cast in the role of Julia Brynn, a character in the remake show Battlestar Galactica that aired 2006 on Sci Fi Channel. She was Ashley Magnus in the first and second seasons of the television show Sanctuary until her character was removed from the show. Her departure remained the subject of heated debate among viewers, with a majority of them wanting her brought back in future episodes, until the show was cancelled in 2012. Ullerup made an appearance on Chesapeake Shores as Bree O'Brien. Ullerup appeared as Maggie Thomas the estranged husband of Michael Thomas. Ullerup also played Dale Travers, a recurring role in Hallmark's Signed, Sealed, Delivered films from 2016 until today.
